Yes, that’s right. I’m throwing myself into another fun-filled, unexpected summer of teaching Italian sweethearts, and putting up with those Cosimos (for those who kept up with last year’s entries, this child was the terror of the summer).
I’m very excited to be returning to Bella Italia, but to top off all the naturally-felt anxiety before traveling, I’m nervous that this year won’t quite live up to last year’s unforgettable experiences. So here I am, sitting in a quaint little bar, eating a chicken and spinach salad sprinkled with bacon and goat cheese, drinking a Sam Adams, and listening to Michael Buble in the JFK Airport, waiting to board my plane to Nice. Now that’s what I call an ideal way to calm those pre-flight jitters.
So here’s the deal for those who didn’t follow my blog last year (Hooray for those who did! The rest of y’all can catch up, no worries): I’ll do one entry per week – ideally, after each camp. Internet access is very limited and takes a crazy long time to upload pictures, so please be patient with me if I show no activity for a week or 2. I’ll chop to it asap!
Also, this is my main form of communication with everyone. Instead of writing countless individual emails, all communication will be done through my blog. Please feel free to comment and leave me messages – in fact, I encourage it. I love reading them.
Finally, this is the best way to fully understand my summer. This will be your most detailed description, and as much as I love talking about myself, it tends to get repetitive. Plus it’s cool when we can talk more in depth because you already have the background info.
It’s 5:06PM now, and boarding started at 5, so I’ve got to chug the rest of this beer and mosey on over to the platform. I’ll be spending the week at my good friend Gabrielle’s apartment in Cannes France. We traveled the entire summer together last year and basically were inseparable. Ciao for now, write again once in France! xoxo
